A Come and See Leisure event was held for the community in the borough of Lewisham with attendees keen to get active with donations and more.
With a massive thank you to our core donators Sainsbury's Lewisham Loampit Vale. Another set of donations from Elephant & Castle once again. Also there were some donations left over from the previous event with Sainsbury's Dulwich. Meaning sustainability in ongoing store donations making a wider impact. With stores working together to contribute what they can for the community.
This event is all about responding to people with what do they need. All for free, just Come and See.
Attendees were able to register for more free events, and get access to supportive services. Local parents, individuals and gym visitors/members received access to free refreshments and an array of free resources to pick up. From non perishables, long life items, snacks, toiletries, pet food, new adult and children's clothing, and gifts.
There was also a live draw at the end of the event with 3 parents winning pool access for their children during the summer holidays.
Encouraging swimming is very important as it is a key life skill. Also being in a fitness, health and wellbeing environment inspires households and people to make it part of their lifestyle.
A special thank to Matthew, the Manager of Glass Mill Leisure Centre, Lewisham for opening the door to us once again and a wider door with Better Gyms. Also to Jenny, a retired ex banking manager who decided one event was not enough and made herself available once again.
The good news is that some of the left over donations will be going to another event in the community creating sustainable impact.
The final outcome is the mutual agreement that the only way is up, and building back sustainably to help communities thrive is where it is going.
Be part of Come and See, it is free!
